Bandwidth

Bandwidth in reference to networking is the measure of data transfer.

Latency

Latency is generally considered to be how long it takes for a packet to make a round trip from one point to another.

ADSL : Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line  is a form of DSL.

Contention Ratio

Contention Ratio generally referes to how many users are potenitially sharing the infrastructure - 50:1 is typical for home ADSL broadband for example or 25:1 is fairly typical for business ADSL users.
